Managing the Toxic Employee
There are five steps to working with a toxic employee:
Confront the employee professionally and describe the behaviors that need to change
Set clear expectations for behaviors that are expected and the changes you require
Document the discussion and expectations to the employee
Have regular coaching meetings with the employee to provide feedback on progress
Be prepared to terminate the employee if there is no progress
We at DBA have the resources and skills to help you establish solid staff policies, provide tools to help you coach your staff – and we can commit ‘hands-on’ support if termination is the final outcome. Your staff and patients will always thank you for resolving a toxic employee!
